Na jane aaj...

Na jane aaj muze kya ho gaya
phulo ko detha to dil katon me kho gaya

suraj ke roshani se man me andhera cha gaya
Thandi hava chali to garami ka ahesas ho gaya

barsaat ka mausam tha, sukha yaad aa gaya
Chandani raat thi, amavas ka din yaad aa gaya

Pedon ki ghani chav me aaj tej dhup thi
khali khuli sadak pe aaj bahot bhid thi
bhid me bhi main aaj akela ho gaya
na jane aaj muze kya ho gaya

The office cubicle

The office cubicle:
I wanted to write about this for quite a long time. I have expressed this to a few of my friends also.
Have you visited US for work? What was the size of the cubicle you used to sit? Was it independent? Did you have enough privacy? Did you have enough space to keep your things? Did the phone have answering machine? And so many questions like this!
The answer to most of these questions is Yes or positive. Now change the location to India and you will realize that the answer is No or negative. Why? Do we realize that out of 24 hours of a day, we spend most of our time in the office and that too in our 4ft X 4ft Cubicle? If we sleep for 8 hours, then we have 16 hours! And out of 16 hours if we spend 10 to 12 hrs in office, then we are spending 62% to 75% of our time in that 16 sq ft place.
Now let me ask a few more questions. Do you have any decorative stuff in your cubicle? Do you have any photographs (of your family or God or something else) at your cubicle? Do you have an extra chair for someone (colleague only) who visits you? Do you have a rack to keep some documents/files/papers? Do you have a table tray where you can keep pens, pencils, post-its, stapler, punching machine etc? I know, again the answer is negative.
If you compare the expenditure, it is much lesser as compared to that of in any foreign country, especially US. Where as the output by the employee is equally competent. All these things can be easily provided without spending much. But, how many of us know it? How many of us realize it? How many of us really want a pleasant and a relaxed working environment? Can we do something or anything about it?

And it is here!

Baleno! Maruti Suziki Baleno LXi Euro3.
I was planning to buy a car for last three years. First choice was Safari. At that time I was in Hyderabad and not in Pune. Then the I started thinking of Honda City (Old Model). I somehow didn't like the looks of new Honda City. Then various vehicles like Scorpio, Ford Flair, Santro and what not. The decision was not being taken. At one point of time I actually decided and agreed with Rahul Khinvasara, a colleague of mine at Nevis, to buy a second hand Maruti 800. During this period, one day, as I was having my tea in the pantry, one of our senior managers, Raghu, came and said that he wants to have an internal bazzi.com. Here people can post messages if they want to sell some old stuff. Kind of second hand market. And after some time Raghu said that he wants to sell something. I and one of my colleague, Mayuresh were there and we thought Raghu wants to sell his Honda City. Thats it! Everytime I saw him, I asked him about Honda City and somehow the news spread across Nevis. Everybody started asking Raghu. Finally Raghu sent a mail saying "Honda City is not for sell"!...... Internal bazzi.com is yet to be created :)
Oh yes! I was writing about Baleno. Then after a lot of research, talking to so many people, looking at the services provided by Maruti and ofcourse analyzing the technical specifications of Baleno we finalized our first ever Car. Then started the bargaining. There are at least four Maruti dealers in Pune. (We talked to all of them.) There was a competition between them to sell the car to us. (By now Maruti Suzuki CEO must be knowing us.) Finally, we realized that even if we bargain more we will not get more than 2-3K discount. And we decided to go with Sai Services. The vehicle was booked and we requested them to deliver it on Akshay Tritiya, an auspicious day!
I will write about the arrival of the vehicle sometime later!

Nagpur Trip

I had been to Nagpur(my home town) on the 7th may weekend. That was a special Kanda Pohe trip. But dont worry, I wont write anything about it :p.
What I want to write is about the roads in Nagpur. Man, amazing. I couldn't believe it. They were so clean, systematic and wel maintained that I thought I am in US. Proper lanes, footpath on both the sides, and at many places lawn. All the time I was thingking, "if this is possible in India, then why is it not in Pune?". Because, I spent most of my bike riding time cribing about Pune roads than looking at good chiks! (And in Nagpur I was amazed by the roads and there also I did the same thing :D. ) Now, I am thinking of going to Nagpur to see ....... ?

Finally!

Finally, after so many days I made it happen! Creating the blog :). To be honest, I got the inspiration and information from Atul Talesara, a good friend of mine and a person I have lot of respect for. Moreover, I liked this idea of communicating with many people and letting them know whats happening in my life. I have also observed that I always get involved in some funny and some adventurous situations. This is the best platform to remember and also to tell others. (Even if they don't want to listen ;) )
